Memorabilia 1 - Memorabilia 2
Movie memorabilia can encompass a wide range of items. Pins, photos, lobby cards,
calendars, clothing, posters, and scripts are just a few of the things you can find
if you are looking for memorabilia. The list above is relatively traditional
memorabilia or things that are massed produced. There are other more rare items that
are available for purchase as well.
Can you believe that you could own a truck, car, or other mode of transportation that was
used in a movie? What about an original movie reel from 1942? Or, a yearbook of one of
Hollywood's classic leading men? These items are not necessarily out of reach. Try an
online auction site or do a search for the type of memorabilia you are looking for in a
search engine. You may be surprised with what you find, but you may surprised by the
price, too! Because a lot of the memorabilia is one-of-a-kind in nature, the prices can
be pretty steep in comparison to a general movie poster, calendar, or photos. If you are
an avid collector though, the price could be worth having it in your possession.
There are also a lot of websites devoted to specific types of memorabilia collecting. For
instance, there is a page devoted to the history of movie prop collection. It is a
high-priced hobby since a lot of the items are very rare, but there is information on
what is worth collecting. Recently, there has been an increased demand for multimedia
memorabilia. You could own a video file that contains the trailer to one of your favorite
movies, if you would like.
The sky is the limit as to what type of movie memorabilia you would like to collect, as
long as you are willing to do a little bit of searching, try to guarantee the authenticity
of the item, and pay enough money for it. As with most things in life, a little
persistence can go a long way in helping you achieve your goals-even if your goal is to
own every piece of movie history!
